Age Requirements

You must be at least 18 years old to purchase long guns and at least 21 years old to purchase handguns from Iowa Gun Shop. By placing an order, you certify that you meet the applicable age requirements under Iowa and federal law.

Eligibility to Purchase

Under federal law, it is illegal for certain persons to purchase or possess firearms, including convicted felons, persons under indictment for a felony, persons adjudicated as mentally defective, illegal aliens, persons dishonorably discharged from the military, persons subject to certain restraining orders, and persons convicted of domestic violence misdemeanors. By placing an order, you certify that you are not prohibited from purchasing or possessing firearms under federal or Iowa state law.

FFL Transfer Requirement

All firearms purchased from Iowa Gun Shop must be transferred through a federally licensed FFL dealer. Firearms cannot be shipped directly to consumers. Iowa Gun Shop complies with all federal and Iowa state firearms laws.

Iowa State Law Compliance

Iowa Gun Shop complies with all applicable Iowa state laws regarding firearm sales, transfers, and recordkeeping. Iowa does not require a purchase permit for handguns as of 2021 but does require a federal NICS background check for all transfers through licensed dealers.
