Installation Note – Read This Before You Start

Apex is clear about this, and we’ll say it again: armorer or gunsmith installation of the Ultimate Striker Block into the M&P slide is strongly recommended. The USB requires some careful fitting and a good understanding of the M&P fire control group. If you’ve never stripped an M&P slide past the basic field strip, this isn’t the place to start learning. Bring it in, or send it to a qualified smith. We’ve got a couple local guys in Des Moines who know these kits inside out. That said, if you’re comfortable with detail work and have the right punches, the kit comes with everything you need – including the slave pin and the Talon tool – to do it right.

Why .40 S&W? Why This Kit?

We still get guys coming in asking for .40. Maybe you’ve got a pile of ammo from the panic buys, or maybe you just like the push. Either way, the M&P in .40 can be a little snappy out of the box, and a heavy, gritty trigger doesn’t help. This Apex kit takes the edge off without making the gun unsafe.
